#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions for July 31, 2017

MANILA, Philippines - Some school administrators and local government units have announced class suspensions on July 31, 2017 (Monday) due to the bad weather condition brought by typhoon "Gorio", tropical storm Haitang and the southwest monsoon.

Here is the list of areas and schools with class suspensions.


  • Kapangan, Benguet
  • Abra Province
  • Tublay, Benguet
  • Kabayan , Benguet
  • Mankayan, Benguet
  • Kibungan, Benguet
  • Bakun, Benguet


  • San Diego Parochial School (Valenzuela)
  • Buguias, Benguet (Pre-school to Elementary only)
  • Atok, Benguet
  • La Trinidad, Benguet
  • Ilocos Sur (Daycare and Kindergarten only)
The following schools in Valenzuela:

  • A. Fernando Elementary School
  • Isla Elementary School
  • Pio Valenzuela Elementary School
  • Coloong Elementary School
  • A. Deato Elementary School
  • Tagalag Elementary School
  • Pasolo Elementary School
  • Polo National High School
  • Malanday High School

According to the weather bureau, as of 4:00 AM of July 30, Gorio is at 555 km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes and has maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 190 km/h, moving West Northwest at 15 km/h.

Tropical Storm Haitang on the other hand was last seen at 85 km West Southwest of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 80 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 110 km/h. It is forecast to move Northeast at 22 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting the western section of Northern and Central Luzon.
