Class Suspension

MANILA, Philippines – Some school administrators and local government units have announced class suspensions on August 26, 2017 (Saturday) due to the inclement weather condition brought by typhoon Jolina and the southwest monsoon.

Here is the list of areas and schools with class suspensions.

  • Baliwag, Bulacan
  • San Fernando, La Union

At 3:00 am Today, the center of Tropical Storm “Jolina” was estimated based on all availabale data at 310 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora (15.3ºN, 124.8ºE) with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km/h. It is forecast to move west northwest at 19 km/h.

Stormy weather will be experienced over the provinces of Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province and Nueva Vizcaya. Rains with gusty winds will prevail over Ilocos region and the rest of Cordillera Administrative region (CAR) and of Cagayan Valley and over Camarines provinces, Catanduanes and Northern Quezon Including Polillo Island. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and possible occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning due to thunderstorm will be experienced over Visayas, the rest of Luzon and Zamboanga Peninsula. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies except for isolated light to occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning will prevail over the rest of Mindanao.
