On June 1, the phone entertainment experience is about to change with the new ABS-CBN TVplus Go – the mobile version of ‘mahiwagang black-box’, ABS-CBN TV plus.
As of the time of posting, the TVplus Go is now available in selected Cellboy and Celltime branches located in SM Malls in Metro Manila, Cavite and Bulacan.
In a news release on Saturday, the ABS-CBN TVplus Go is the first product that lets Android smartphone users to watch free-to-air TV and exclusive ABS-CBN Channels.
Same as with the ABS-CBN TV plus box, TVplus Go will be able to access exclusive digital channels such as ABS-CBN, ABS-CBN S&A, DZMM Teleradyo, Cinemo, YeY, and knowledge channel.
Channels on free trial like Asianovela Channel, Movie Central, Jeepney TV, Myx and O shopping are also available.
“Millions of Filipinos use mobile devices as part of their everyday lives. We aim to serve every Filipino by providing easy and affordable access to entertainment and information from their favorite Kapamilya channels right at their fingertips with ABS-CBN TVplus Go.” Charles Lim, ABS-CBN Access head said.
The android application is available for download at the Google playstore.
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The TVplus Go is designed to work on an android smartphone with the following minimum requirements:
- Micro USB port ( Type- C port works using a Micro USB adapter with data support)
- USB OTG Android device
- Android 5.0 Operating System or higher
- 1GB RAM or higher.
- Dual-core processor or higher
Also make sure that your android phone is not rooted since the TVplus Go application will not work in a rooted device.
To check if your phone is OTG enabled you may use this tool from ABS-CBN.
Upon using the product for several weeks, the ABS-CBN TV plus go was able to provide us clear picture of different channels available. In some areas in Cavite and Manila, we were unable to get reception from some tv channels such as ESPN5 and CNN9.
Overall, the ABS-CBN TV plus go is really an on the go entertainment system that you must have if you want to watch your favorite tv shows on the road. However if you are planning to use it indoor, please be reminded that this device is not reliable for indoor use since it gets weak to no signal at all.
